- Get ready for a day full of bagels at The Bagel Festival in Monticello, NY
Did you know there is going to be a huge Bagel Festival in Monticello on August 16 and 17? Organizer Jeff Siegel, president and CEO of the Spencer Daniels Agency, is anticipating thousands of bagel fans for the first Bagel Festival in Monticello. (Within five years, Siegel thinks the numbers could increase to 50,000.) One event will be the building of the world's largest bagel chain. The fee to participate in the bagel chain will be $5 as they are going to submit the chain to the Guinness World Record Book and Ripley's Believe it or Not. It is a national event, so out-of-state bakeries are welcome to attend. Siegel can't offer an exact number of participating bakeries yet, but don't worry, there will be more bagels than you can count! There will be inflatable rides for the kids, bagel tossing, a bagel peace sign, bagel spinning, and much more! Check out Thebagelfestival.org for the entire schedule of this two-day bagel event.
