Yellow Curry Tofu Rice Noodles

I'm trying to eat less meat this year, so I was happy to find out that New World Home Cooking has a three course Meatless Monday Prix Fixe menu for $20 on Mondays. On our anniversary dinner, I ordered from the Meatless Monday menu, and my burger loving husband ordered from the regular menu. New World Home Cooking has a laid back but elegant Woodstock vibe.

Tom started with the mushroom wellington appetizer. I had a vegan curried cauliflower and potato soup. I would have preferred a large bowl instead of a mini-bowl since the soup was very tasty, but I guess that is prix fixe size. The yellow curry tofu with rice noodles was very hearty and delicious, and not over the top spicy. Tom ordered the Northwinds Farm Beef Burger Deluxe with french fries, and a side order of braised kale. New World Home Cooking makes their own ketchup. On the night we dined there, they had traditional tomato, mango, and banana ketchup. The banana ketchup was outrageous! My prix fixe came with dessert and I chose the fresh berries with Greek yogurt. Tom ordered fresh berries with whipped cream.

All in all, it was a delicious meal. Our server Megan was very friendly, engaged, and knowledgeable about the menu, so the service was excellent. They also have a gluten-free menu, many delicious vegetarian dishes, special theme nights like Lobster Fridays, and live music.
