From Basilica to Club Helsinki to the Hudson Opera House, Hudson is a local music mecca. This weekend, the city fully lives up to the role with their 3rd-annual Hudson Music Festival, featuring over 350 musicians performing at over 25 venues along Warren Street.

From August 9 to 11, the free music festival will host over 100 performances throughout Hudson's nightclubs, restaurants, bars, and galleries, including Kingston's alternative indie-rock band Nightmares for a Week, blues poet Tas Cru, Connecticut's jazz-rock group the Isaac Young Quartet, and Albany's funk-afro-grunge band Oobleck. At American Glory’s Blues, Brews & BBQ tent, grab a locally brewed Chatham Blonde Ale and kick your feet up while listening to old-school acoustic blues by PP Junior's Delta Trio, whose members play vintage instruments. This year's venues include the Press House Stage, a make-shift tent at 7th street park; recently reopened neighborhood bar The Half Moon; the Hudson Opera House; and the Spirit of Hudson cruise ship, which will host dockside music as well as cruises to the Hudson-Athens Lighthouse.

In addition to great music, Hudson is home to 28 art galleries, gourmet and casual restaurants, 46 antique stores, and many other local shops. Warren Street's 9 walkable blocks feature preserved Federalist and Victorian architecture, and the Henry Hudson Riverfront Park and Promenade Hill sit along the Hudson River, offering views of the scenic Catskill Mountains. The Black Arts and Cultural Festival Tent at the Henry Hudson Riverfront Park will host cultural activities, including Gaia Roots Afro Fusion for the youngsters, and the Bindlestiff Youth Stilt Walkers will make a mid-afternoon appearance on Saturday.
