When we moved here in 2004, a new friend told us that we should go to Hurley Mountain Inn, and we like to go there a few times a year now. Did you know that a scene from Tootise was filmed here? From the outside, it looks like an old-fashioned saloon, but the inside is very spacious and inviting. They were closed for renovations for part of the Summer. We took the family out for dinner there a few days after they reopened. The makeover brought shiny floors, new plaques on the wall, and an improved bar area, but I am happy that the video games, pool table, and pin ball machine are still there. It's a great rainy day restaurant because the kids get a lot of exercise running around before and after the food arrives
I was dismayed to see that the Dustin Hoffman/Tootsie tribute had been removed. (It was near the restrooms before). I contacted the restaurant about the Tootsie tribute, and they assured me that it would be put back up once all the renovations had been completed.
I've always enjoyed the food at Hurley Mountain Inn. I'd recommend any of the typical bar food specialties (chicken wings, quesadilla, taco salad). In an attempt to offer healthier options, they have added a Low Carb menu. My husband and I ordered from the Low Carb menu and the dishes were good, but not as satisfying as the dishes we have ordered from the regular menu. So, we decided from now on to stick to the bar food when we go there, and the pizzas look good too so we'll have try one of their pizzas next time. The kids always get the burgers with the curly fries, and the kids meals come with tiny ice cream dixie cups, which is a nice retro touch.
