Yes, it’s true—Valentine’s Day falls on a Wednesday this year, but just because the holiday arrives midweek doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice romance. We’ve rounded up five restaurants in the Hudson Valley serving gourmet prix fixe feasts on February 14. A word to the wise: reserve your tables in advance. BYO sonnets.

Heritage Food & Drink (Wappingers Falls)

The rustic atmosphere of Heritage Food and Drink gives a feeling of both comfort and class perfect for a dreamy date night. After extensive renovation, the bar and restaurant in Wappingers Falls opened its doors in August 2017 in the former location of Greenbaum and Gilhooley's. Heritage will host its first Valentine’s Day dinner with an optional, three-course prix fixe menu. Guests will choose from four appetizers, three entrees, and two desserts. The options include a fried blue point oysters appetizer, basil crusted lamb loin main course, and Heritage “black forest” cake for dessert. The dinner comes with a glass of sparkling rose. $59 per person



Butterfield (Stone Ridge)

This farm-to-table restaurant is big on its locally grown foods, especially veggies. Butterfield will offer a three-course dinner a deux with vegetarian options. The prix fixe selections run the gamut from sturgeon caviar and raw shellfish to roasted celery root and beetroot risotto. The meal will be capped off with homemade truffles and a glass of Prosecco. . The delicious meal will be. The Roundhouse (Beacon)

Overlooking the waterfall on the corner of Main Street in Beacon, The Roundhouse offers picturesque views while being right in downtown Beacon. As a hotel and restaurant, they’re experts in hospitality. The Roundhouse is offering special Stay and Dine packages starting at $219 from February 9-16. The American eatery will also serve a four-course dinner on Valentine’s Day. Terrapin (Rhinebeck)

An elegant Wednesday evening awaits at Terrapin in Rhinebeck. In the Red Bistro, guests will be served regular menus on a first-come, first-serve basis, and in the dining hall, sweethearts can select from a three-course Valentine’s Day prix-fixe menu. Guests will start out with a tapas platter, which will include goat cheese-filled wontons and Nantucket bay scallop ceviche. Then, there will be a choice of six entrees, including pumpkin ravioli, butter poached lobster tails, beef fillet mignon, and grilled lamb chops. The Amsterdam (Rhinebeck)

Rhinebeck’s new kid on the block, The Amsterdam, is a house-turned-restaurant that offers a warm, welcoming environment for a pleasant night out. The “Be My Valentine” dinner menu includes choice of appetizer, main course, and dessert. Appetizers include steak tartare and frisee salad, entrees include whole roasted chicken and grilled ribeye, and desserts include panna cotta and baked apple.
