Finding fresh produce and supporting farmers in the Hudson Valley can certainly be a little tricky during the winter months, when all of the outdoor farm stands have closed up until the spring. Fortunately, there are a few indoor farmers’ markets around—such as the Woodstock Farm Festival Winter Market, which will kick off at the Bearsville Theater
compound on January 7.
Held in the site’s Utopia building (the former Utopia Soundstage overseen by Todd Rundgren), the market series will begin this Saturday and take place every other Saturday through the end of April 2023.
“After 15 summers of bringing community and local farms together, we’re thrilled to bring that same magic to the dark chilly months, when we can all use a dose of warm fellowship and fresh food,” say the market’s organizers. “A new season brings new vendors, so while some of your summer favorites will be joining us this winter, we’re excited to introduce producers at our winter market. You can expect winter produce, maple syrup, meats, cheeses, coffee, personal care items, mushrooms, and more!”
The Woodstock Farm Festival Winter Market series will open at the Bearsville Theater center’s Utopia building on January 7 from 10am to 2pm and take place on alternate Saturdays until the end of April. Admission is free.
