The annual summer fair got its start in 1840 as a way to improve the domestic economy. The regional fair continues to honor its original goals at the Columbia County Fairgrounds with domestic arts and crafts exhibits and live animal shows, along with traditional fair staples, like rides, food vendors, and children’s activities.
