2014 LongHouse Food Revival

When: Sat., Sept. 13, 10 a.m. and Sun., Sept. 14, 2 p.m. 2014
Attendees will delve into the intersection of culture and agriculture in the American Midwest. The weekend starts with unexpected presentation and performances from a bevy of remarkable presenters and food thought leaders. Saturday Night, at our Live Fire Feast, chefs will be facing off in the Live Fire Cooking Arena,'cuing up resolution to one of the Midwest's eternal questions: Oink Vs Moo. Chef Edward Lee is determined that we will eat our vegetables --- and is turning out at least an acre's worth of handcrafted preserved and ash-cooked beauties. On Sunday, September 14 a firehouse-style breakfast kicks off a day of exhibition, panels and tastings. The LongHouse Food Flea is a country marketplace of food books and magazines, social justice organizations and farms, as well as serious retail opportunities of artisanal, vintage and contemporary goods for the kitchen and tabletop. A formal olive oil tasting rounds off the weekend's festivities!
