Re: “Contractor Aaron Bollman’s Renovated House in Saugerties

House profiles are great- your subject, on the other hand, is not. While touting community and the generosity of neighbors, Aaron Bollman has made a living on scamming unsuspecting clients on renovation projects, posing as a general contractor. Perhaps an expose on subcontractors that have done work for his company and were never paid, or the projects he has bailed on after receiving substantial payments?

Furthermore, buying a house with the sole purpose of cashing in on weekly rentals via AirBnB does little to support a 'really great neighborhood'.

Re: “Pets Underfoot? A Flooring Guide for Pet Owners

Hey, Thanks for sharing such a nice piece of information over here. The pet owners like me, are actually seeking such guidance to keep their pets in good condition as well as their home. All the flooring tiles, types, are not suitable for all the pests, especially in winters they feel cold when touches the Floors. Recently my wife called an expert from the Zothex flooring ( https://zothexflooring.com/carpet/ ) for the carpet installation Sacramento for pet rooms. Likewise, one should also think about their pet's health by keeping your home in pets friendly condition.

Re: “Community Gardens Help Neighbors Grow Together

Anyone who is under the illusion that production of Opium is anywhere Near a primal thrust of Community Gardening is ... imo, just Scrounging for something negative to say! First, Lots of people grow poppies, Not to produce opium, but for their Beauty, since the acquiring of pain meds is So Much Easier than trying to grow & produce! Second, "opioid poppy" isn't a Thing! Opioids are a product; the flower is called opium poppy... Third, i'm pretty sure, if you were Actually involved w the gardens, y'd have seen/worked with Many Many other plants, like lettuce spinach berries corn onions potatoes tomatoes eggplant cucumbers squash of many varieties... Why focus on a few poppies that are Probably being grown for aesthetic reasons?
Community Gardens are Awesome, a source of Fresh, usually organic, fruits & vegetables! i Love our garden and wish there were More people who wanted to work out in the Glorious Sun (and even the sweet summer rains) to provide food for selves & others! No Thanks to the person above, whose Only motivation seems to me to be a spurious (not to mention uneducated) slight to all the people who work so hard to provide Real Food to people!

Re: “Community Gardens Help Neighbors Grow Together

When I was in the gardeners in New Paltz I saw plots growing opioid poppies; a felony as far as I know.

Re: “Rock & Roll Sanctuary: The Woodstock Home of Celebrity Photographer David McGough

David hired me in NYC for about 18 months during 1982-1983---he had more work than he could handle then and needed an extra photographer. I met him because I began working--fresh off the boat"--- at a photo store on 23rd & 1st where he'd get his slides processed and buy photo paper etc. He let me show him my amateur photo efforts, and gave me a chance.
I always find it strange to hear him described as a "paparazzo" because in my experience he wasn't intrusive or exploitative. He explained some essential techniques to me that helped me get the framing, the focus and the exposure right in a second ( and even when walking backwards!). Above all, he told me, he wanted the celebrity to look good in the photo. not just 'appear' in it. and to try and compose the shot and if possible, 'capture' them.

Others in the business had the craft ( and the aggressiveness) but David always pursued the art of photography. IMHO a lot of photogs these days, despite the sophistication of DSLR's, are just shooting snaps. David was (and is) a damned good photographer, regardless of subject. (and I had a fantastic time working for him).
And he's a really great guy--as this article and recent activities attest.

Re: “6 Hudson Valley Resort Projects Under Development

HAHAHAHA! really obvious ad-ragism! Almost all these projects are questionable in terms of environment and local culture. Glad the article didnt dig too deep! Is this what The River aspires to ?

Re: “6 Hudson Valley Resort Projects Under Development

Tourism is more importent than the local citizens now. Soon all of the tourists will look around and instead of seeing the unique flavor of these areas theyll just be looking at eachother.
