Summer breezes have yielded to chilly winds, and the cooling temps of fall lend themselves to comfort food.
If you’re curious what autumnal delicacies the region’s restaurants are offering this season, Hudson Valley Restaurant Week, from November 1-14, is the perfect time to find out. Okay, so it’s actually two weeks, but with more than 100 of the region’s top restaurants participating, you’ll be glad for the extra time to fit in a few more.
During the twice-annual Hudson Valley Restaurant Week, local restaurants create special three-course, prix-fixe menus for lunch ($25.95) and/or dinner ($35.95). Participating restaurants have pledged to follow social distancing guidelines, train staff on safety protocols, and follow CDC standards of cleaning and sanitation. Guests are asked to wear a face covering and follow social distancing guidelines. Note that the prix-fixe menus do not include beverage, tax, or gratuity.
Just to whet your appetite, here is a handful of the hearty dishes you can expect from some of the participating HVRW restaurants:
Westchester County
Warm up with Lamb Ragu over Hand-Cut Fettuccine at Maria, in New Rochelle, or try Arancini bursting with cheese in a pool of marinara at Fortina in Armonk, Rye Brook, or Yonkers.
Ulster County
Dutch Onion Soup with caramelized onions and three cheeses will keep you toasty at The Dutch, in Saugerties
Dutchess County
