The region's premiere film festival is back. Now 23 years old, the Woodstock Film Festival continues to gain traction and repute each year. For 2022, the lineup for the five-day fest includes a whopping 48 feature films, 98 shorts, 6 full-length music films, live music performances, panel discussions, and parties in Woodstock, Kingston, Rosendale, and Saugerties. "Almost: My Life in Theater" | 9/30 - 10/2 at the Center for Performing Arts in Rhinebeck
Based on her memoir of the same name and serving as both a return to the stage and a book launch, Roselee Blooston tells the story of a decades-long struggle to fulfill her early promise by becoming a professional actress, in this Spalding Gray-inspired monologue directed by Emily DePew. Along the way, she encounters several Oscar winners and nominees––including Meryl Streep, Greer Garson, and Olympia Dukakis.
Dracula at the Widow Jane Mine | 9/30-10/1
Any art or performance staged in the naturally cool and dark depths of the Widow Jane Mine in Rosendale is worth seeing, but especially the original 1927 Broadway adaptation of the spooky Bram Stoker novel Dracula. Presented by Theater on the Road, you have two opportunities to see acclaimed actor David Smilo as Dracula on September 30 and October 1.

Stockade Faire | October 1
The Stockade Faire returns for another takeover of Uptown Kingston on Saturday, October 1 with a classic car show, food, drink, fashion, and vintage. The bustling corridor of street vendors is being curated by Maya Lekach of Phoenicia Flea, and a new collaboration for acclaimed Bushwick nightclub House of Yes! amps up the danceability of this year's fest. There will be two stages: RSVP's stage will host live bands including Wild Pink, Matt Sucich, Kira Metcalf, Kendra McKinley, Shayna Blass, and Katie Martucci, while the Climate Action stage will host acts including Tinkerism, Greg Paulus Trio Live, Laura Lynn, Wolf + Lamb, and Eli from Soul Clap.
Felice County Fair | 10/1
Local folk rock prodigals the Felice Brothers bring their backwoods musical jubliee the Felice County Fair back this year after a long hiatus. The event takes over Arrowood Farms brewery and distillery in Accord for a day of musical performances by everyone from local darling and rising star Al Olender to the headliner Conor Oberst of Bright Eyes. The Felice Brothers themselves play the second-to-last set. The event promises a fun fall day of music, craft beer, collaborative performances, and cameos. Festival tix available online. Hudson Valley Garlic Festival | 10/1 - 10/2 at Cantine Field in Saugerties
The "stinking rose" gets its due at one of the region's longest-running food festivals. Find garlic in all its forms—pickled, preserved, fresh, fried, dried, blanched, braided—you name it. Since its inception in 1989, the Hudson Valley Garlic Festival has grown and grown and now draws over 50,000 enthusiasts every year to Cantine Field in Saugerties. Pick from rare varieties of garlic for cooking or planting, and sample surprising delicacies like black garlic ghee, lemon-ginger-garlic elixirs, and even garlic chocolate chip cookies. Along with over 100 garlic peddlers, there will be craft vendors, hot food booths, live music, dancing, and a kid's corner.
