A Hayride in Frozendale

Holiday Hayride in Rosendale

With all the different holiday celebrations going on in the Hudson Valley, it is impossible to attend them all. This year I'm making an effort to check out the ones that I haven't been to before. On Saturday, I attended my first Frozendale in Rosendale. We only stayed in Rosendale for about an hour since we had other errands to run, but we made the best of it.

A hayride down Rosendale's Main Street cleared our minds, and hearing the joyful sound of kids breaking into a spontaneous off-key round of "Jingle Bells" gave us a much needed boost of holiday cheer. After the hayride, we stopped off at The Alternative Baker for a yummy gluten-free sprinkle cookie, and got a candy cane from Santa Claus before we headed home. Had we stayed longer, we would have seen a parade of musicians and sang along to "The Sound of Music" being performed at the Rosendale Theater. What are your favorite Hudson Valley holiday traditions?
