Tyvek Tears it Up in Hudson Tomorrow Night

Acclaimed Detroit lo-fi art-punk band Tyvek and special guests Dr. Skinnybones will rock the Half Moon in Hudson on Wednesday, October 2.

Named after a popular brand of synthetic home siding, Tyvek started gaining recognition in 2008 after recording a multitude of seven-inches for the labels X, What's Your Rupture?, M'Lady's Records, S-S, and Sub Pop and releasing its first full length for Siltbreeze Records (2009). Of Tyvek’s second album, 2010’s Nothing Fits, AllMusic says, “Tyvek might be protesting too much with the title Nothing Fits. After all, In the Red Records, which released this album, is a perfect fit for their brash, off-kilter punk, placing them alongside the Black Lips and the Intelligence…‘4312’ kicks things off with revved-up, cross-eyed countdown and relentless riffage that underscores the early Wire comparisons…Tyvek are still at their best when they keep things short, snarky, and catchy.”

Opening act Dr. Skinnybones hails from Annandale-on-Hudson and plays similarly ragged lo-fi pop.
