Family Fun at the Mid-Hudson Children's Museum in Poughkeepsie

The Mid-Hudson Children's Museum in Poughkeepsie is a great place to take the kids on a rainy or freezing cold day. I went there for the first time two winters ago. The kids loved it! There is plenty to do here, and I certainly got my morning workout chasing the kids, going up and down between the two levels which are packed with cool exhibits and activities. It is also very warm inside. The heat was working almost too well when I was there.

There is a sectioned off area that is great for toddlers in the main level, as well as a firetruck, make believe bakery with a play oven and toy cupcakes. The upstairs has a Disney radio box with working microphones, and river table with toy frogs and turtles. There is a skate park for skateboarding adjacent to the parking lot of the Mid Hudson Children's Museum. Admission is $7.50 per person. 1 year old and unders are free of charge. We will definitely be back. Do check out their website or Facebook page before you go as they have many special events for familes.
