Watch out, Beacon: Your immediate neighbor is gaining on you. While in recent years Beacon has become a go-to Hudson Valley spot for seasonal outdoor music via the Beacon Riverfest and Hobo Concert Series, now Cold Spring is getting into the act with its Rhythm on the Riverfront series, which is being co-presented by Beacon Music Factory and Scenic Hudson, takes place August 7, 14, and 21.
Held at Cold Spring’s Foundry Dock Park (just a few steps from the MTA parking lot), the three-date program promises a different intriguing live act each time out. It opens on August 7 with Daria Grace’s (Jack Grace Band) new-ish outfit, the Pre-War Ponies. August 14 features local Hawaiian steel guitar ensemble Tiki Daddy, and the trilogy concludes on August 21 with Brooklyn’s rollicking M Shanghai String Band.
