A Sweet Way to Raise Money for Breast Cancer

Calling all bakers: Here's a chance to strut your stuff, for a great cause. Brasserie292 in Poughkeepsie is looking for contestants for its "Recipe for Hope" dessert competition, which will raise money for the Miles of Hope Breast Cancer Foundation. Contestants are invited to enter their favorite original recipes, along with a little excerpt explaining why it's their favorite. Submissions must be in by March 31 - so get those recipes going!

In addition to supporting the pink-ribbon brigade, the finalist bakers will get a moment in the spotlight. The top 6 to 8 recipes chosen by the culinary staff at Brasserie292 will be featured on the menu for the month of April. Diners at the restaurant will then vote for the final winner, either by in-house ballot or by social media (Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter) by tagging the location as well as the hashtag #B292Dessert. The grand prize winner, announced on May 1, will receive a $250 gift card to the restaurant.

Only one can take the cake, but the person who generates the most social media buzz will receive dinner for two at Brasserie292. The best part about this competition is that 100% of the proceeds will be donated to Miles of Hope Breast Cancer Foundation - whose mission is to fund support services and outreach for people affected by breast cancer within the eight counties of the Hudson Valley.

To enter the competition, send your recipes via e-mail to [email protected]. For more information visit Brasserie292 on Facebook, or call 845-473-0292.
