Star Dust is a guided tour through the life cycle of a star. The colorful imagery of Star Dust is accompanied by a soundtrack of music and educational narration, and is the first new kaleidoshow to be introduced since the 1996 opening of the World’s Largest Kaleidoscope. The new Kaleidoscope Exhibit and Gallery will feature archival photos of the construction of the World’s Largest Kaleidoscope, interactive life-size scopes and a photo-op scope that creates a keepsake photo of your face transformed into a mandala image. Budding kaleidoscope designers will have the opportunity to attend kaleidoscope making workshops with renowned artists Sue Rioux and Carolyn Bennett. The beginner workshop is available to ages eight and up and is priced at $25 per person. An advanced workshop for adults only is priced at $165 per person. Also planned for the 20th Anniversary Celebration is a full day of fun. Families and collectors alike will enjoy a Drum Circle by Kodi & Crew, tarot card readings, a live remote with WDST radio, face painting, balloon animals, an outdoor barbeque and kaleidoscope themed cocktails and desserts at the Emerson’s Woodnotes Grille restaurant. A 20th anniversary commemorative kaleidoscope and other specialty kaleidoscope items will be available for purchase. The Anniversary Celebration also coincides with the grand opening of the newly renovated Emerson Resort & Spa.
There is no charge to attend the Anniversary Celebration and there will be free screenings of Star Dust throughout the day.
