Re: “Community Gardens Help Neighbors Grow Together

Anyone who is under the illusion that production of Opium is anywhere Near a primal thrust of Community Gardening is ... imo, just Scrounging for something negative to say! First, Lots of people grow poppies, Not to produce opium, but for their Beauty, since the acquiring of pain meds is So Much Easier than trying to grow & produce! Second, "opioid poppy" isn't a Thing! Opioids are a product; the flower is called opium poppy... Third, i'm pretty sure, if you were Actually involved w the gardens, y'd have seen/worked with Many Many other plants, like lettuce spinach berries corn onions potatoes tomatoes eggplant cucumbers squash of many varieties... Why focus on a few poppies that are Probably being grown for aesthetic reasons?
Community Gardens are Awesome, a source of Fresh, usually organic, fruits & vegetables! i Love our garden and wish there were More people who wanted to work out in the Glorious Sun (and even the sweet summer rains) to provide food for selves & others! No Thanks to the person above, whose Only motivation seems to me to be a spurious (not to mention uneducated) slight to all the people who work so hard to provide Real Food to people!
