A Writers Reading Event. Historian, author and lecturer David Head will discuss his book, "A Crisis of Peace: George Washington, the Newburgh Conspiracy, and the Fate of the American Revolution." "A Crisis of Peace" presents a vivid narrative of the Newburgh Conspiracy of 1783. [An account of a critical phase of the Revolutionary War following the siege of Yorktown: a phase that presented multiple military, economic, and political dangers to the nascent republic.] This event is a collaboration between the Butterfield Library and the Putnam History Museum
