A Night of Neo-Benshi: Flow Chart Cabaret Cinema-Friday, September 1 at 7pm

Taking inspiration from early Japanese silent film interpreters (called “benshi” in Japanese), neo-benshi artists today create a brand new take on a very special kind of theater. Poets and performers remove the sound from film clips, create new dialogue, and perform it live in front of the screen. Ranging from the ridiculous to the sublime, it’s a one-time only event that’s not to be missed!
