A Poem: Everything; Maybe Nothing

we are so lucky that
(someone
something
everything
maybe nothing)
put us here
and we’re here
right now

(i often cannot fathom it)

for i don’t believe in god
and i don’t believe in magic
(though there was a time
that i believed in both)

i believe in the
beauty
that we create
and we experience
and there are words like serendipity
and fate
that get close to what i mean

but it is not something
i must solve.

i am
beginning
to
learn

that the beauty may lie
in the mystery

itself.
