The socio-politically conscious band’s sophomore album, The Underside of Power, was released this past June and was coproduced by Portishead’s Adrian Utley and mixed by studio ace Randall Dunn (Sunn O)))). According to the band, the album’s 12 dark, experimental-but-danceable tracks draw from hip-hop, Italian horror movie soundtracks, gospel, dub reggae, ’80s punk and industrial, and Northern Soul.
