Leaning. Lying. Sitting. Slouching. The everyday body arranges itself automatically to be comfortable, to sleep, to interact, to arouse, to pose. In ink and gouache on paper, Pleasant fluidly captures these fleeting moments, distilling them into clean black silhouettes. As a group they are complemented by two sculptures, each made of curved planes in black, white, or grey. Viewed from changing angles, they suggest heads turning or at rest.
