The music dramatically expresses the human condition in times of conflict through the poetry of Walt Whitman (who served as a nurse in the Civil War), 19th century statesman and orator John Bright and Biblical passages of hope and healing in affirmation of human harmony. The 50 voice chorus, soloists Amy Martin and Matthew Ulrich and string orchestra will be conducted by Ars Choralis artistic director Barbara Pickhardt with Kristen Tuttman at the piano.
