As part of our Speaker Series, the Wappingers Historical Society presents lifetime WHS member and scholar of art history, John DiDomizio. Delve into the works of four great American artists: Winslow Homer, Frederic Remington, Augustus Saint-Gaudens and Louis Comfort Tiffany. Mr. DiDomizio has been a student of art history since his first visit to the Metropolitan Museum of Art sixty years ago. As a collector of American art, John will discuss Winslow’s “Snap the Whip”; Remington’s “Coming Through the Rye”; Tiffany’s “View of Oyster Bay”; and Saint-Gaudens’ “General Sherman and Victory” statue, along with 20 other works of these artists.
