The U.S. is not the first country to grapple with how to teach and commemorate a violent and racist past. Historian Daniela Weiner will discuss how neo-Nazi and neo-Fascist attacks in Italy and Germany after World War II drew attention to how little Nazism, Fascism, and the Holocaust were being addressed in schools.
Daniela R. P. Weiner is a Jim Joseph Postdoctoral Fellow in the Concentration in Education & Jewish Studies at Stanford University. She is a historian of modern European history and the Holocaust, with a particular interest in the history of education.
