James Bagwell conducts Baroque Songs of Praise. Motets and madrigals by Isaac, Schütz, Monteverdi, and others (including a rarely-heard work by Francisco Lopez-Capillas, the first native-born chapel master in the New World) foreshadow J. S. Bach's compositional techniques, gloriously manifest in a performance of the motet "Lobet den Herrn, alle Heiden," BWV 230.
