New York Times dance critic Gia Kourlas wrote an article earlier this year describing BalletNext's artistic director Michelle Wiles, as "being in her prime" and "building a platform, not just for herself but for other dancers, choreographers, musicians and artists."

Here's how Wiles describes what she wants for BalletNext: "I want it to be a company with high-quality work, where everyone is taken care of. Eight to 10 dancers. Definitely live music. Minimalist, but tasteful. A jewel of a company.”
