Re: “Enter the Karmapa

What a pity Karmapa hasn't chosen to visit Baltimore. But the Gelugpas & the Drukpa Kagyus have: http://www.baltimoresun.com/news/maryland/…

Re: “Enter the Karmapa

So here we have it, even the monks from Drepung are demonstrating in solidarity with black Americans. What's wrong with other American Buddhists? http://theendlessfurther.com/hands-up-dont…

Re: “Enter the Karmapa

I think Wesley is selling him short. He's actually focusing on social issues, particularly the environment. This reflects an extension of Buddhist teachings on compassion into a more dynamic and relevant emphasis on social justice or humanitarian causes. Wesley represents a very traditional interpretation of Tibetan Buddhism which is all about enhancing the power, influence and financial clout of institutions such as the one she represents, Karma Triyana Dharmachakra. When Wesley starts speaking out about the appalling number of black shootings, for example, then i will accepts that she has 'got' the new Karmapa.
