With the weather warming and tourists flocking to the Hudson Valley, festival season is ready to swing into high gear once more. If you’re a local maker or vendor looking for a day of good vibes and a spot to exhibit your goods and gifts, The Festival Marketplace, a one-day event highlighting local wares, skills, and crafts popping up at The Hudson Valley Resort in Kerhonkson might be the perfect place to kick off your season.

The inaugural event, which is intended to become an annual free public event, is the latest endeavor from 845 Vibrations, a local art, music, and community company known for its flagship electronic festival Evolutions, a spectacle of art and music immersed in color and friendly faces.

Founded by brothers and Hudson Valley locals, Justin and Michael Brown, 845 Vibrations is a collective whose vision is to send out a ripple effect and spread peace, love, and positivity through all forms of art, music, and community. “Our 845 group is a strong sphere of lifelong friends who really enjoy holding community events,” says Michael. “We have conducted town trash clean-ups, construction renovation raffles, food drives, and even a NASA citizen science mission measuring tree biometry.” 845 Vibrations intends to continue to grow its community impact and take on bigger collaborations potentially with local towns.

As a continuation of these efforts, The Festival Marketplace will spotlight local artists and makers by providing them with an opportunity to interface with the community while simultaneously growing their network with other vendors. In the spirit of 845’s community-minded mission, donations will also be collected at the event for Mentor Me of Ulster County, an organization empowering youth and cultivating resilience.

Several vendors that participated at last year’s Evolutions will also be joining The Festival Marketplace next month and will be at this year’s Evolutions. With 845’s track record of returning vendors, the care and thoughtfulness that goes into producing their events no doubt provides a welcoming entry point for any new vendors interested in joining The Festival Marketplace next month.

“The end product and experience for both those involved as well as the attendees is truly amazing,” says Justin. “The extent to which everyone comes together and the amount of work that gets accomplished is staggering, but in being honest, we work relentlessly at everything 845.”

The Festival Marketplace will take place Saturday, April 23 12pm-12am at The Hudson Valley Resort in Kerhonkson. To learn more about becoming a vendor, email the 845 team at [email protected]
