Can Artists Rescue Our Assaulted Planet? An Illustrated Talk by Linda Weintraub

Bolstering the faltering ecosystems of Earth has spawned a visionary contemporary art movement. Its members consist of artists who devote their originality, sensitivity, and ingenuity to addressing environmental problems associated with contaminated waters, depleted soils, addiction to energy, unmanageable wastes, unconstrained consumerism, and more. In each instance art diverges from the traditions of self-expression and formalism. Instead, it occupies an exciting frontier of cultural engagement. There will be an illustrated presentation with a discussion afterwards.
