Candy Cane Making Demonstration

Sugar cooking, pulling, and dying comes to life on November 28th & 29th at the Commodore Chocolatier. Each attendee will participate in a hands-on demonstration of crafting the holiday candy cane, and leave with a treat in hand. This event held over Thanksgiving weekend will educate viewers on the candy making process— beginning with the transformation of sugar. Attendee's will visualize the main ingredient cook in a big copper kettle until it reaches 300 degrees. Following, candy crafters practice the technique of sugar-pulling on a marble table and add pure flavors. Coloring and striping are applied last to transform the clear candy mass into a decorative holiday treat that is appealing to the eye. This is an opportunity for kids of all ages to stimulate their senses, educate their minds, and then leave with a goody in hand.
