Attendees can learn about the traditions that take place during Christmas season in Mexico while sipping on hot chocolate. Elsa Gracian and the Mid-Hudson Mexican Folkloric Dance group will provide an informative afternoon along with dance performances from two regions in Mexico and the breaking up of a star piñata. The presentation will focus on Las Posadas, the Mexican celebration of Christmas begins on December 16 and ends on the evening of Christmas Eve. The nine-day observance represents the Holy Family’s nine-day journey to Bethlehem and their search for shelter in a posada, or inn.
