Chronogrammies Nominations Close February 29. Here’s 3 Reasons to Keep Nominating

There are just two more weeks to get in your nominations for our first ever Readers’ Choice Awards, the Chronogrammies! If you haven’t yet nominated your Hudson Valley favorites, the clock is ticking. You’ve got until midnight exactly on February 29 to add your nominations, so get to it!

A giant thank you to all 10,061 of you amazing folks who have added nominations so far. Let’s keep that momentum going! If you’ve already added a nomination or two, here’s three reasons why you should head back over to the ballot before nominations close to weigh in on the rest of the categories:

1. It’s so easy to add your nominations now! You can take advantage of the thousands of nominees already stored in the ballot and add yours with one easy click (but don't double vote in any category). Remember, the top 5 nominees in each category will advance to the voting round, so every additional nomination counts.

2. You can give a little love to some of the less populated categories. Does your favorite cafe have a reward for bringing in a reusable mug? Nominate them for green business! Frequent a trail with a divine overlook that always entices you to stay a while? You better believe you can nominate it for a spiritual/contemplative place. (We’re still figuring out how to give riverside lookouts and grassy knolls their Chronogrammies awards...more to come on that.)

3. You can achieve fame and glory by becoming one of the first 25 people to add a nomination in every category! Help us hit this mark by February 29 and we’ll give you a shout-out as a Chronogrammie Superfan on our social media and $25 in Chronogram Smartcard credit to use at any of our 27 participating restaurants.

Juneteenth marks the official end of slavery in America on June 19, 1865. Today, the holiday focuses on Black achievements and culture, recognition of inequality and systemic racism in the United States, and the ongoing fight for equal rights. 2021 brings an expanded list of ways to celebrate Black freedom and to reckon with the racial past and present of the United States.

This June 13, 20, and 27, the Reher Center for Immigrant Culture and History hosts its ninth annual Kingston Multicultural Festival. Participants will be able to watch performances by dancers, musicians, and poets from diverse backgrounds in the TR Gallo Park gazebo. There will be pop-up eateries, each with their own informational posters about the history and culture of the food they’re making and serving. Central to this year's festival is the Worry Dolls Project, or "Proyecto Muñecas Quitapenas" in Spanish, a Guatemalan craft tradition brought to over 700 local Kingston students.
