Set on 73 acres of Hudson riverfront property in Kingston is the historic Hutton Brickyards, once home to a brick-making manufacturer that supplied materials for iconic New York City structures like Yankee Stadium and the Cloisters. Today, its remaining industrial architecture—three soaring steel-frame kiln sheds—play host twice a year to a different kind of waterfront maker magic: Field + Supply.
Founded by renowned interior designer Brad Ford in 2014 as a modern interpretation of a traditional arts and crafts market, Field + Supply brings together a carefully curated selection of makers from across the country for one of the region’s most anticipated events.
Expanding on the success of the past eight years of bringing local artisans and design-minded visitors together in the Hudson Valley, Field + Supply also recently announced the launch of its first ever Holiday MRKT, which will be held in Charleston, South Carolina this December.
“As Field + Supply has grown over the years, we have seen an increase in out-of-state exhibitors and visitors,” says Ford. “It’s been our goal to host Field + Supply in markets across the country that feature robust communities and share our commitment to supporting and celebrating the art of craftsmanship. After exploring several suitable options, Charleston emerged as a natural choice to expand Field + Supply.”
Field + Supply’s Fall MRKT will take place Friday, October 7 through Sunday, October 9 from 10am to 6pm at Hutton Brickyards in Kingston. The F+S Holiday MRKT will be held at the newly renovated Charleston Visitors Center Friday, December 9 through Sunday, December 11.
