Contemporaneous has played over 60 shows at Le Poisson Rouge, Merkin Concert Hall, Roulette, Galapagos Art Space, the Baryshnikov Arts Center, the Stone, and other leading New York venues. The ensemble released its debut album, Stream of Stars—Music of Dylan Mattingly (Innova Records) in 2012, and has been featured by MATA Interval Series, Tribeca New Music Festival, Neighborhood Classics, Music with a View, and Make Music New York, and in California at the Berkeley Arts Festival.
“Breathe” features the premier of the Contemporaneous-commissioned work “Beauty in Breathing” by Brooklyn-based composer Albert Behar, “twenty four strings” by Samuel Carl Adams, and “Atlas of Somewhere on the Way to Howland Island” by Contemporaneous co-artistic director Dylan Mattingly.
