Conversations: Derek McGee reads from "When I Wished I Was Here: Dispatches from Fallujah"

The Middle East and the Search for the Right Amount of Meddling: Derek McGee reads from his memoir and new work. In honor of Veteran’s Day, Boughton Place’s monthly Conversations series hosts Derek McGee who wrote a small memoir about the two tours he served in Iraq: When I Wished I Was Here: Dispatches from Falllujah. After the reading, McGee, who’s also the author of a recent article for The Nation: An Iraq Vet’s Journey from Wall Street to Occupy Wall Street, will lead an audience discussion about the complex situation and turmoil that continues to plague the Middle East.
