Crows on the Hudson a photography exhibit

Claudia Gorman has been exploring the magic and mysteries of birds throughout her photographic career. This exhibit focuses on the thousands of crows that gather near the Hudson River in Poughkeepsie. Just before dusk, a communal roost occurs where crows from Dutchess and Ulster County and beyond gather to chatter, socialize, hunker down for a night’s sleep, then depart for the day, but again return at night. It seems communal roosts provide warmth for the crows and minimize the risk of predator attack at night. Perhaps it's also an opportunity to teach young and unskilled crows. It’s quite a sight!
