Cuba Unbound: Travel, the Embargo and Poetry

The event will be about travel to Cuba, the effects of the embargo on the Cuban people and poetry, including readings/presentation of contemporary Cuban poets that we have met. The event will include a slide show with recent pictures from Cuba as well as updated information about the Cuban embargo by Michael Raphael. The evening includes the performance of a multimedia work by Sam Truitt entitled "675 Malecon," made of images taken from Omar Perez's apartment, along with Omar's drumming and a reading from a translation of his manuscript "Cubanology."
