Dar Williams
  • Dar Williams

Acclaimed Cold Spring singer-songwriter Dar Williams recently released Emeralds (Bread & Butter Music), her first album in three years. To tout the new disc, she’s hitting the road for a tour that includes stops on the West Coast, the Pacific Northwest, Midwest, and East Coast—including one on December 4 at the Towne Crier.

Featuring guest appearances by Richard Thompson, Jill Sobule, Jim Lauderdale, the Milk Carton Kids, Lucy Wainwright Roche, Suzzy Roche, and the Hooters (!), Emeralds is another fan-delighting collection of new original material. It also includes some perhaps surprising covers, such as Big Audio Dynamite’s “Johnny Appleseed.”

Hear and watch her sing the album’s “Slippery Slope” in Germany this past May:

Dar Williams will perform at the Towne Crier in Beacon, New York, on December 4 at 8:30pm. Joe Crookston will open. Tickets are $45. For more information, call (845) 855-1300 or visit http://www.townecrier.com/.
