Each Day, Water: A Monument for the Water Protectors of Standing Rock and Beyond

A unique and unprecedented series of advocacy events conceived and organized by local artist Elizabeth Phelps Meyer, in homage to the Standing Rock Sioux Reservation in North Dakota, whose water protector movement has gained national and world attention since the indigenous-led pipeline protest made headlines in April 2016. The art installation features 365 porcelain vessels filled with river water from Standing Rock rivers and the Hudson River. The public is invited to bring their own water during the exhibit hours. Oral statements about the sanctity of water made by natives at Standing Rock can be heard through earphone stations.
