Mitchell’s seventh album, Blue Clouds (her fourth for the legendary Smithsonian Folkways label), was nominated for a Grammy award this year. She has been has been playing at Maverick on Saturday mornings for several years running, with concerts for kids featuring appealing and heartfelt songs by artists ranging from Woody Guthrie to Bob Marley and the Velvet Underground; she even taped a video at the Maverick hall for Smithsonian Folkways.
