The award-winning music organization Crescendo presents its spring concert program on May 21 and 22. Elizabethan Music and The Sounds of Hamlet will feature madrigals and motets by the greatest British composers of the Elizabethan Age: William Byrd, Orlando Gibbons, Thomas Morley, Thomas Tallis, Thomas Weelkes, and John Wilbye. A commissioned work by the young organist and composer, Juan Mesa, is based on three quotes from Shakespeare’s Hamlet. Performers are the Crescendo Chorus, soloists, the viola da gamba ensemble Arcadia Viols, and Larry Wallach on continuo organ. Artistic Director Christine Gevert will conduct.
