Emergence of Character: Japanese-inspired digital brush painting by Artist Jonathan N. Pazer

OPENING: Sept. 8th 12-4pm. Light Refreshments Served. This exhibit is about written language and how it’s made, how we intuitively recognize ideas and images and their relationship to spoken language. Pazer’s brush paintings seek to convey abstract concepts using simple images. As a viewer, you will have an opportunity to look, consider, and then read the name of the piece. You should feel free to disagree with these names and attach your own meaning to these works--because in doing so, you will become a language maker, exploring the very foundations of the earliest forms of written language.
