As humans we are both biological organisms, driven by instincts, and intensely social creatures led by morality and other elements generated by society. All of this gives us rich emotional lives, with the full range of happiness and suffering. This presentation will look at emotions and their pivotal role in our mental health, and how challenges can make us resilient against "the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune." Jeff Colombe has a B.S. in biomedical engineering and a Ph.D. in neurobiology, over 20 years of study under teachers of Kashmir Shaivism and Tibetan Buddhist meditation.
