Eric Roth: Nineteenth Century Guitar Music

The program will feature music of America's first great guitar composer, an African-American named Justin Holland (1819-1887), as well as Paganini, Sor, Giuliani, Mertz, Tarrega, and others. Music will be performed on a beautiful, authentic reproduction instrument modeled after one built in 1830. Eric will also provide information about the instrument, repertoire, composers, and history.
