Footloose and Dirty Dancing at the Greenville Drive-In
As it celebrates 60 years(!), the Greenville Drive-In is kicking it up in high style on May 24 and 25 with a double feature that screams ’80s-kitsch-classic: the dance-themed Footloose, starring Kevin Bacon, and Dirty Dancing, starring Patrick Swayze. Tonight, May 23, it’s showing Footloose only and on May 26 Dirty Dancing only. May 25 has both films plus live music by the Red Headed Strangers. Art Omi Season Opening
Located in the beatific Columbia County town of Ghent, world-class contemporary art center Art Omi is an essential visit all year round—but especially in the warmer months, when one can wander its sculpture-filled fields. On May 25 the facility ushers in its summer season with opening afternoon of events, site-specific performances, and refreshments in its on-site park. Artist and musician David Shrigley, whose To Be of Use is on view May 25 through July 21, will perform his piece “Problem Guitars” with Melissa Auf der Maur (Hole, Smashing Pumpkins), Arone Dyer (Buke & Gace), and others. http://artomi.org/

Abdu Ali at the Half Moon
Watch out: Hudson nightery the Half Moon gets all experimental on May 25 with a live appearance by the eccentric Abdu Ali. The Baltimore-born, “unapologetically black and queer,” avant-garde electronic musician’s work is an idiosyncratic blend of punk, jazz, club music, and rap. About his newest release, FIYAH!, Ali says, “This album is everything that I am and everything that I am not. Rondout Lighthouse Tours Open
One of Kingston’s most revered local landmarks, the historic Rondout Lighthouse, is starting up its season of tours this weekend. Starting on May 25, the lighthouse will be open for tours of up to six people via it’s the Hudson River Maritime Museum’s small boat the SkillyPot on Saturdays and Sundays through June 21. The guided tours start at noon and take place every 45 minutes, with the last tour leaving at 3pm. Advance registration is strongly recommended. http://www.hrmm.org/
