A site-specific, environmental adaptation of "Ten Thousand Birds" by John Luther Adams will be directed by the acclaimed experimental theater and opera director Ashley Tata.
Instrumental sounds will commingle with the calls of wildlife, the rustling of leaves, and our own human footfalls. Birdsong will become music, instrumental sounds will be transmuted into natural ones, and the open setting will become artistic space, the lines blurring between human creativity and natural phenomena.
This program is presented in partnership with the Town of Chatham.
