Gail Whistance’s Connections: The Honk Falls to Kingston Electric Line

In 1903, a small squad of men spread out across the farmland and hamlets between Napanoch and Kingston to purchase easements from landowners to obtain a right of way for the first high-voltage electric transmission line to service the bustling city of Kingston. This lecture tells the story of the building of this line and how it was recently rediscovered near Hurley through some enthusiastic industrial archeology.
