Gender, Religion, and Rural Life: Reconsidering Dorothy Day and the Catholic Worker on the Land

Sally Dwyer-McNulty, Professor of History at Marist College, examines the history of the Catholic Worker farms in and around New York State, including Rose Hill in Tivoli. Limited in their roles at the Houses of Hospitality in New York City, Dwyer-McNulty considers what opportunities the farms offered women and families from the 1930s through the 1970s.
